Our Story

Branton Juniors FC was founded in 1988 by Phil Mann, who had a passion for football and a desire to provide local children with a safe and supportive environment in which to play the game.

With the help of Garry Burns and Roger Griggs, the fledgling club soon grew in popularity and entered two teams at U10 and U11 in the Doncaster and District Boys Sunday League.

In those early days, Branton Juniors played all their home matches at Kilham Lane and also ran a nursery group of 9’s and under on Saturday mornings, providing a space for the youngest aspiring footballers to learn the basics of the game.

As the club’s reputation and success grew, so did its membership and resources, leading to a move to a new home within RAF Finningley in the early 1990s. By 1994, Branton Juniors had become one of the largest junior clubs in the area, and another move beckoned, with the club relocating to its current location at Hayfield School on Hurst Lane.

Over the years, Branton Juniors FC has expanded to encompass a range of teams and age groups, from U7s to Over 35s, and has recently formed a girls’ squad to meet the growing demand for girls’ football in the area.

Throughout its history, Branton Juniors FC has remained committed to promoting the values of respect, fair play, and a love for the game among all its members, coaches, parents, and volunteers.

With a strong focus on community involvement and a passion for nurturing young talent, Branton Juniors FC offers a welcoming and supportive environment for players of all ages and abilities, helping to build confidence, skills, and friendships that last a lifetime.

At Branton Juniors FC, we are proud of our history and our commitment to developing young players. We look forward to continuing this tradition and creating more opportunities for young people to participate in football in a positive and supportive environment.
